Timberframe or CLT modular homes are in many ways similar to the modular homes made of steel frame as they have almost the same structural properties and they offer thesame long durability. However, no steel in the Timber or CLT homes and there is a major advantage when a significant lower carbon footprint is a main goal in a constructionproject. Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) is a technique in which multiple glued layers are made to build very sturdy panels oriented perpendicular. Timberframe is a slight different way of construction. In 2020 we will start a project with modular homes in Sweden using the timberframe system. Timberframe can also be combinedwith CLT techniques which in some parts of the design is more suitable solution.
